M+B is pleased to announce its participation at Paris Photo Los Angeles from April 26 - 28, 2013 at Paramount Pictures Studio in Los Angeles. Please come visit us at Stage 5, Stand 6 where M+B will present a solo presentation of new works by Matthew Brandt. M+B will also present a solo presentation of new works by Anthony Lepore in the New York Backlot, Stand D2/D3 in association with François Ghebaly Gallery.
On display will be works from Matthew Brandt's Lakes and Reservoirs series, along with the premier of his Night Sky series, with this new body of work tilting our gaze upward from the horizon line to the great swaths of the expansive universe enveloping us. These new works further exemplify Brandt's engagement with landscape, and--as always--the materials he employs further inform the read of his images. Brandt's work is included in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY; The Columbus Museum of Art; the Brooklyn Museum of Art; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; the Elton John Collection, UK; the UBS Art Collection, NY; Bidwell Projects, Cleveland, OH; and the Statoil Collection, UK. Brandt received his BFA from Cooper Union in 2004 and MFA from the University of California Los Angeles in 2008. Brandt lives and works in Los Angeles.
François Ghebaly and M+B jointly present a selection from Anthony Lepore’s new working series Nocturne. Eschewing digital manipulation, Lepore shoots with a 4x5 camera providing visceral moments of fulfillment. The artist’s work is held in the permanent collections of the Guggenheim Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Hammer Museum, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Yale University Art Gallery. Lepore received his BFA from Fordham University in 2000 and his MFA from the prestigious Yale University program in 2005. He lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
